If you're not familiar with the autosurf phenomenon (2001-2005), here it is in a nutshell. It is basically cash-back advertising. You create your ad (website, business, personal page, whatever), put it in rotation and get one view back per each ad you view. You get a percentage of your ad spend (or "upgrade") each day, provided you view enough ads. The returns are usually astronomical, and once you cash out your earnings, your principle is gone. There are obviously many downfalls, and more than a few shady operators, but with some due diligence, you can earn very nice returns.
The original autosurfs (12Dailypro, 4Daily etc) went belly-up when then-3rd largest payment processor (behind Paypal and EGold)St*rmp*y couldn't return 12Daily's cash to them. Imagine that- a payment processor that couldn't even keep money trusted to them safe! Anyways, 12DP had close to 3 million members worldwide at it's peak, and it's problems led to the collapse of the then blossoming 'industry'.
New payment processors, new admins, and new programs have risen out of the ashes, and there are several great monitor/ranking/rating sites that help to keep track of them, as well as a few well-established forums. Check out our new Surfpage, and investigate yourself!
